Bulk Novelty Beads
Here are some unique kandi beads that add instant coolness to your kandi bracelets with minimal effort by you. Novelty beads are great for using on tradeable kandi bracelets, because they help you make tons of cute kandi quickly :DBest String for Kandi
There's some controversy over what is the best type of string to use for kandi bracelets. Most of the hardcore kandi cuff makers I know (myself included) swear by elasticated string - the kind that feels like it's wrapped in fabric. We prefer this type of string because it's easy to use and lasts a long time. It doesn't snap as easily as the plastic type of string, such as Stretch Magic. For this reason, I strongly recommend you use elasticated string for kandi, especially if you're just starting out. Out of the string below, the medium thickness is the one I use for most kandi bracelets. The heavy string is very thick and is best for things like kandi necklaces and accessories. It doesn't stretch very much though so it's not as good for kandi bracelets. If you buy your string in a store, be sure to get the "Stringing" 1mm string from Michael's. The elasticated string at Jo-Ann's is bad quality.| White Elastic Cord 100yd - Medium |

Bulk Pony Beads / Shaped Pony Beads
Pony beads are an essential when it comes to making kandi bracelets. They're the type of bead that are most commonly used for all types of kandi, including kandi bracelets, kandi necklaces, and kandi cuffs. Stores that sell pony beads include Michael's, Jo-Ann's, and Wal-Mart. The selection of beads varies by store, so you'll just have to visit your local stores and see what they have. In Michael's, you'll want to look in the kids' craft section as well as the general bead section, because most of the pony beads are in the kids section. Note: it's normally a lot cheaper to buy pony beads online rather than in stores.Bulk Alphabet Beads
Alphabet beads can be used to spell out sentimental, cute, or funny messages on kandi bracelets, kandi necklaces, or other jewelry. The alphabet charms work best on necklaces, so the charms can hang down properly. You can normally find a small selection of alphabet beads at stores like Michael's and Jo-Ann's, but I've never seen the charm kind in stores before.Fuse Beads & Pegboards
These are fuse beads that are ironed to make cute charms for kandi. If you buy a bucket of beads, you will also need a pegboard and iron paper.Last Updated (Sunday, 22 August 2010 21:04)
